Caribbean Multihull Challenge Comes to Great Bay

In a novel twist for the seventh running of the annual CMC; its new baby – the three year old CMC Cruising Rally – running at the same time and beginning on the 30th of January 2025 – will introduce the CMC First Annual Great Bay Beach and Boardwalk Jamboree™.  The Jamboree will be a one day affair kicking off three more days of cruising in company to the French side and to St Barth’s.

The Jamboree will begin when the Rally fleet enters Great Bay and anchors close in –  in view of the first event of the day which begin at 12:00 pm and consist of up to a dozen 24’ Sport Trimarans particpating in a series of high speed racing along the entire beach and boardwalk.  All this in plain vew of spectators gathered at boardwalk bars and restaurants and especially upstairs at the Dutch Blonde Beach Bar which we be headquarters for the racing.

Then at 3:00 pm, Jamboree action will move to the sports park on the eastern end of the beach where boat crews and guests will compete for prizes for two hours in various sports competitions like Tug of War, Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer and the like.  This fun competition will be supervised by a CMC official.

Then – after a break – the Party will begin at participating downtown and boardwalk establishments at 6:00 pm and go on when all Jamboree guests will be treated to an 8:00 pm Parade of Carnival Dancers and a  9:00 pm Fireworks Show presented by the CMC with funding from Bobby’s Marina and Dock Maarten Marina.  Special for the evening will be music from the band Control presented by Talulah Mango’s and the St. Rose Beach Bar.  Stephen Burzon, Director of Marketing for the CMC says….“The first annual CMC Jamboree is a collaboration of Port St Maarten, St Maarten Tourism and all CMC sponsors.
